My iPOD classic won't turn on even after re-setting to iTunes and power outlet. The apple logo flashes dimly.

To rule out a faulty USB docking cable that is not providing power to the iPod, try another cable (if you have one). If the cable is not the problem...

Does "re-setting to iTunes" mean you did a Restore on the iPod. This procedure?

If you just did a Reset (restart), by pressing and holding the Menu and Center buttons

If the battery is low, you can do this while iPod is connected to power. Run iTunes and connect the iPod to a direct USB port on the computer. If iTunes picks it up, it may prompt you to do a Restore. If you're OK with erasing the iPod, do the Restore.
