Does Apple Watch give out a warning sound or vibration when it is out of range with your iPhone?

Apple Watch does not presently offer audible or haptic alerts if it is taken out of Bluetooth range of the paired iPhone. When the devices have become disconnected via Bluetooth, if the watch is also unable to connect to a known Wi-Fi network at that time, it will show the Disconnected icon at the top of the watch face:

There's another app called PopPik + Connect Aware you can try. It has an alert with a haptic buzz and sound that go off when the watch becomes disconnected from the iPhone and it works really well, but you have to be using the app. Otherwise, Apple has no built-in alert other than the tiny red icon they display.

Have made the suggestion. Tried Lookout, and found it impossible to fine tune the notification sufficiently. Lookout either failed to notify me as I moved out of range, or gave constant notifications while phone was in my pocket. I finally deleted it, as it was too annoying. Sometimes Apple just misses the obvious.

I just found out the same thing, and I totally agree. Missing the obvious seems to be an ongoing trait since the first iPhone, if not before as well.
