Songs removed from my music are also removed from playlist.

The new feature to have songs added to play lists are not added to my music is great. The only issue is that if you remove a song (or an album containing a song on a playlist) it is also removed from the playlist.

Anyone else would like to have (at least the option) to keep songs on a playlist even if removed from my music?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.1

This is not completely true. As of ios 9.3.1 you have the option in settings to add a song only to a playlist and not to my music. So it will not appear in your "my music" but it will be in a playlist. Very convenient if you want to keep "my music" clean with only full albums for example.

But if you remove a song that is listed in " my music" it will also be removed from any playlist it is in...

This seems very odd logic to me...

Your understanding of playlist is not correct.

Playlist do not contained music files as mentioned, they are just links to the actually files.

For example, if you add a song to a playlist, you do not actually have 2 song files: 1 in playlist and 1 in your music library.

The actual song file is only in your Music Library or in some other places.

Are you Apple Music subscriber?

Same goes with photo albums.

Yes, I am a Apple Music Subscriber.

I do understand what you are saying. But please explain this:

A playlist contains the song "Wild Horses":

User uploaded file

If you do a search in "My Music" on "Wild Horses" it does not show up in the results:

User uploaded file

This behavior is caused by this setting:

User uploaded file

So my question stands (or maybe feature suggestion) stands:

If a song is in My Music and you delete it, do not delete it from a playlist.

The reason btw for this is that I keep a lot of popular songs in some playlists. I don;t have any albums of these artists, so they clutter "My Music" with single songs. Since ios 9.3.1 I have the option to not have these songs (and artists) added to "My Music".

Now I want to "clean up" my music so I only have full albums in "My Music".

But basically I have to recreate all my old playlists because of the issue described in this post.

But also in the future:

If I added an song in a playlist from a particular album but then there is a "Best of..." or something and I do not want to keep the album that contains the song that is in a playlist, it will also be removed. My playlist is affected by removing the album in my music. I don;t want this.

This is my last attempt to clarify.

Since you are an Apple Music subscriber, all songs in the Apple Music Library are available to you to listen/download/stream.

You don't own them, once your subscription expire, all those songs from the Apple Music Library wherever they are, will not be accessible.

You example Wild Horses is one of them.

You cannot delete music from Apple Music Library since it doesn't belongs to you, you only have access to them.

Imagine you can delete the physical files from Apple Music Library (note there are quite a few millions subscribers) there won't be any songs left on Apple Music.

You can delete songs from your Music Library since it's yours and to avoid dangling references, the links in the playlist will also be deleted.

Hope it's clear to you now.

No, you don't understand the requirement,

There's a thing called "My Music"

There a playlist

I want to be able to add a song to a playlist, but not My Music. Apples supports this.

I want to be able to remove a song from My Music but leave it in a playlist. Apple doesn't support this.

We are reporting bugs so guess what, trying to tell people "how the system works" isn't helping, because "the system doesn't work"

Yes I understand your requirement but that's not how it works. Read again my previous post.

Good luck with your requirement.

Songs removed from my music are also removed from playlist.
