Kernel Panic random freeze and restart

awesome, thank you! I will try this today and see if I can find out which of the 8 RAM sticks are problematic.

couldn't find anything in the console log about Parity Errors.

I keep trying the system profiler, but so far haven't seen any errors.

Crashed again today, ran over to watch LEDs, and all I saw was a red one flash from what looked like in the processor heat sink area.

yes. I had 32 installed, but when trying each ram slot, one at a time, my mac pro won't boot up from slots 4 and 8. so I have 4 gigs in slots: 1,2,3, 5,6,7. I had thought it was a slot hardware problem ... but apparently it's still crashing lol, so I suppose that's not the problem. Also, is there anyway I can invoke the crash so I can reliably check each ram stick?

I may have more than 1 bad RAM module. I tried a sample of 3 sticks ... crashed. I tried another 3 ... crashed as well! Now I'm testing just 1 of the 2 that weren't part of the last 2 crashes. I searched "slot" in the console log and got this, what do you think?:
