I need to block a number from calls & text messages but also need sender to know about it; such as "text not delivered" or "this # does not accept calls from this #". Is this possible for iPhone 6 or is there a work around?

No - one option would be to tell them via a text or call that you are blocking them
Thank you for the quick reply, that is what I thought after reading so many posts but was hoping some genius had figured it out. Too bad, I really need this feature.
You can send a text back that reads - text not delivered - you are blocked by this number - and then block the other contact - will serve the same purpose - however it will do it only the once
Block phone # and the caller know about it
