I faced the problem that many of my live pictures of my iPhone 6S are displayed as a video. This means i can not watch it anymore as an picture and can't activate the live function with a force press of my macbook. Also these live pictures are in my iPhone changed to a video now. It seems that the file is not separated into the video file and the static picture. Is there any way
When you are using iCloud Photo Library with "Optimize Storage" enabled on your iPhone, it is not save to import using a USB connection, unless your iPhone has been offline for a long time and you are sure, which the new photos have not yet been uploaded to iCloud. Otherwise auxiliary photos you downloaded from iCloud to your iPhone with a reduced resolution will show as new photos and you will have a mess of duplicates in different pixel sizes and with different filenames.
When importing manually you have to select the new photos you need to add and cannot trust the "New" selection in the Import panel.

What happened, before your Live Photos stopped working?
Live Photos will turn into regular photos, if you edit them. Have you tried to undo the edits and to revert the photo to the original on your iPhone? That should restore the original Live version of the Live photo. To revert to the original: Tap the Edit button with the photo selected. Then, tap the Live Photo icon in the upper left corner. You will be prompted to revert the image to its original form.
I didn't edit my photos. Usually, I sync my photos with the iCloud. When I plug in my iPhone I imported the pictures which were not yet synced with my iPhone yet. This caused many duplicates. Means that I am having now some live pictures and 3 seconds videos, which are obviously duplicates. Some live photos, just turned in videos and I do not have the original live photo anymore.

Then the Live Photos have not been edited on the iPhone, and it is more likely a problem of how they have been downloaded to the mac. My PhotoStream does not transfer Live Photos correctly.
Ok. I think then it is the problem of importing photos with the USB import and PhotoStream. Thanks, I will just clean up the mess and will use from now on just the PhotoStream.
How to change Videos back again to live pictures?
