Q: Problem connecting new wireless keyboard to imac

I bought a Magic keyboard to replace the previous faulty wireless one but have been unable to connect it to my imac with bluetooth. It is not being found by the Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard in settings menu. The only way I can get it to work is via cable.Any suggestions? I'm running OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

If you have the Magic Keyboard 2, you will need to upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.4 in order to get full functionality.

This, and its sister item the Magic Mouse 2 were re-designed with El Cap in mind.   Check the box it came in; it should say 'for 10.11. El Capitan'. or words to that effect.

Ah! that explains it. Checked the box and it says it requires OSX 10.11 or later. Didn't notice that when I bought it so I'll need to upgrade to El Cap then? Thanks!
