can the 85W MagSafe2 power cord be repaired?

Hello

My cat has chewed trough two different power cables for my 15" macbook with retina display. He seems to prefer the thinner wire and I was wondering if it is worth it to get that repaired rather than replace it? Any opinions or info would be appreciated.

Thanks

the body of the adapter is glued shut and Apple does not repair them.

If the wire is not damaged where it exists the body of the power adapter, It could be spliced, IF you could find a replacement DC power cord on the secondary market. There is a central insulated conductor and the braid around it becomes the second conductor for splicing. The LED tricks are done by a tiny circuit board in the L-shaped or T-shaped end. The magnet is on the computer.

At US$80 each for a new power adapter, I think I would replace or eliminate that cat.
