If I enable FileVault on my Mac, will I still be able to open my files from a PC? I use Dropbox and I also have a laptop running Windows 7. If the files are encrypted, will I be able to open them on the Windows 7 computer? I'm assuming the answer is yes but I want to make sure.

In my opinion, FileVault is a good security measure for laptops/portables, but not Desktops necessarily like the iMac.
I use Dropbox too and feel secure with that. I also copy my Dropbox files to a USB thumb drive and take it into the office for offsite storage.
I don't use FileVault on any of my Macs. If I have locally-stored files that I don't want others to gain access to, I put them on a password-protected disk image.
