Q: MacBook with many issues
I have a Macbook (2015, 12 inch) that I purchased in late December, and am running out of ideas. Here are the problems I have encountered.....
- When the machine comes out of sleep mode, it takes 30 seconds or so for it to reconnect to WIFI. I have tried a few different networks, and have the same issue. If I turn off WIFI, and turn it back on during the 30 second period, it connects right away
- Periodically, it will loose WIFI connectivity for no apparent reason, and I need to do the same trick with turning WIFI off and back on. There does not seem to be any pattern to when or why this happens
- I can not send or receive phone calls from the machine, and yes my iPhone 5 is on the same WIFI network. Once again, I have tried different networks. Messaging does seem to work properly
- Handoff will not work. Well, it kinda worked once, for a few seconds, but never again
- Airdrop is a no go too. I have tried sending stuff to my wife who is right across the sofa from me. Her Macbook Air sees me, but I can never see her. Same issue when trying to airdrop to my phone
To try to fix this, I have done a total rebuild of the OS, only restoring data from time machine. Before the rebuild, airdrop and sending/receiving phone calls worked. Afterwards, same issues, but no airdrop or phone calls anymore.
So at this point, I am at a complete loss. I can not think of a common denominator that could be causing all of these issues, and am not sure if it is a hardware issue, or the OS itself.
