texting without it being an email
A few people in my contacts say that when I send them a text it shows up as an email with an attachment. How do I change it so they just get a phone text?
iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.1

Use Messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support
Check what contact information you have for them in Contacts. Are you actually sending the message to their mobile number? Or are you, perchance, sending it to their email address?
Also, sometimes, for people with older phones, messages from iPhones show up as MMS (multimedia messages) and the message content itself is in an attachment to the message. I've never heard of it showing up in their email app, though.
