    You are looking for an old serial printer such as the HP Deskjet 870cxi.  Getting the 9 pin din serial key and drivers for it may be hard, unless someone kept a copy of the discs.

    In addition to a MiniDIN-8 printer port, your PowerBook 3400c/200 should have an Ethernet port. An appropriate old monochrome PostScript laser printer (for example, from Apple or HP) is often a good solution. There are PostScript laser printer models with LocalTalk and/or Ethernet ports. The LaserWriter Chooser extension (part of the operating systems for this computer) should work fine as a driver with these printers.
