5507 Error

I cannot access Home Sharing because of a 5507 error has occurred. What does that mean?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.1

You will get this error when you try to enable Home Sharing on one device (say a computer), and Apple is enforcing two-factor authorization - this works by Apple sending you a text on another device owned under that same Apple ID. Maybe an iPhone, or an iPad. It will not indicate on the original computer what the problem is - however, on your other device you'll get a message, 'Someone is attempting to sign in with your AppleID' around <general city location> where the computer is. Allow? If you indicate yes, Apple will then provide you a 6 digit Verification code and instruct you to log in once more on the original device (the computer), and append the 6 digits to the end of your normal password. Until you do this, you'll keep getting Error 5507. Do this, and Home Sharing will allow you to enable it and it will work just as you expect.
