I cannot update the apps on the ipad because a formerly used apple ID appaers asking for the password. When I try to renew the password for that ID the answer is that the ID does not exist. What is the reason and what to do?

I am soory to say that he link did not solve my problem. To overcome the difficulties I removed the apps which could not be updated with the old apple ID and put the newer versions again on the ipad using the latest apple ID.That costs sometimes extra money, but i saw no better solution.

Thank you for your attention and help.

this is not the solution to my issue! if i check by stating "forgot password" i get the message that the ID is not known.

further more i received the suggestion to delete all app i bought via this id, that is impossible to find out. so i am now still stuck with a notification every few minutes to give in my password.

my "new" id (years old already) functions, so i have access, but it is very annoying to get this popup every few minutes.
