On calendar if I create a new event on my Mac it syncs to my phone automatically. But if I create a new event on my phone it doesn't sync to my Mac please help!
Try Settings/iCloud and slide off syncing. Wait a few minutes and then resync.
Have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?
on which device are you suggesting turning the sync off/on? I have an iPhone 6 and events in my phone calendar will not show up on my laptop. I turned the iCloud off and then on again on my phone and even reset the phone but nothing changed. Thank you.

Try going to iCloud.com to see if the items are there and whether they are from the device or the computer. That should show whether the device or the computer isn't syncing. If the computer, try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop syncing. Wait a couple of minutes, then recheck syncing. If the device, go to Settings/iCloud and do the above. You can also try signing out of iCloud and then sign in again.
