Q: My Iphone was stolen, CS told me to go to Icloud.com, setting and then my devices and remove?

I think now that i'm home after 9 hours, that I should of went to find my iphone and erased. My work computer kept freezing everytime I went to find my iphone so I went to setting on my Icloud, and removed the phone under my devices.

 

Now that I can, I went to find my Iphone and erased it but I'm wondering what going to the icloud, setting and removing the device actually did.

 

I'm worried about the theif..who stole it from my desk at work being able to read pictures and messages etc..

    Unfortunately by removing it from your account by you essentially allowed the theif to be able to setup the phone and use it.

    Erasing the phone was the correct thing to do but you shouldn't have removed it from your account.  If you would've left it on, it would be a paperweight.

    I don't care if they keep ...It's was gross and nasty and I have new one being ordered. I just didn't know if they could access pictures and videos etc.

     

     

    They can keep it, I just want all my info gone, as if I had sold it to them.

    Did you have a lock screen passcode on the device? If you did not, then whoever took the device has access to everything on it - with or without Find My iPhone.

     

    Removing the device from Find My iPhone on your iCloud account does not turn off Find My iPhone, so the device is still protected by the Activation Lock. If the device reconnects to Wifi, you will be able to see it listed again. At that point you have the option to put the device into Lost Mode (if you did not have a Lock Screen passcode on the device), or to Erase it.

    Yes, I did have a l lock screen. I have nudes and videos and it was a customer who saw and stole it, I am in a long distance relationship...so yeah you know...Anyways....I just want the **** thing deleted.  This person is likely to come to my place of work and now me a little to well for my liking. I just want it wiped and I am having a nervous breakdown over all of this.

     

     

    I did just now go to find my iphone and put it on erase mode.

    If the person doesn't know your Lock Screen passcode, then the device will become disabled after too many attempts at trying it. There is also an option to automatically erase the device after 10 failed passcode attempts in Settings, but doesn't sound like you know if you had that turned on or not?

     

    The erase will executed as soon as the device becomes connected to Wifi or Cellular again.
