G4 iMac 800

Hi I have a G3 iMac 400 dv, but i am looking at a G4 iMac 800 to replace it, what type of life span am I looking at. Or should i not even go this route..

P.S. will the G4 run Lepoard

I am new to mac's but am i correct that a 800mhz is the same as a 1.6 intel

Whilst I am a great fan of the iMac G4 design the 800MHz iMacs are not nearly so good as the later 1.25GHz models. The latter having S-Video/Composite video out, Audio-In ports, 54g WiFi and USB2 over the former; making them faster and more upgradable.

No-one outside Apple knows for sure what the minimum specs for Leopard will be.

Comparing processors with completely different architectures is difficult and somewhat pointless. A 1.66GHz Mac Mini Intel will be much much faster than a 800MHz iMac G4. What really makes the machine faster IMHO is the ease of use and stability of OS X over Windows.
