Help! Macbook pro 2012 does not accept my apple ID password.

i recently bought a refurbished macbook pro 2012 and tried to log on with my apple ID (i created the ID 2 years ago on my ipad air and can log on to icloud from my windows desktop). It always tells me that my password is incorrect (even though it is not). Can someone help me with this problem?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

When you get a second hand (In your case refurbished) MBP, these guidelines from Apple should be followed:

Essentially what you should do is to erase the HDD and install the original OSX. Until you do that, you will not have your Apple ID associated with the MBP and you will not be able to update applications from Apple. I recommend that you boot the MBP into Internet recovery (OPTION + COMMAND + R) and reinstall the original OSX.

Ciao.
