Q: Can't open iBooks on my iPad

SSince I upgraded to iOS 9.1.3 I can no longer open or access iBooks on my iPad3 wifi. It flashes a message about iCloud too fast to read.

ive checked all my settings but nothing helps. I don't have the same problem on my iPhone 4. Any suggestions?

    Hi HazelHay,

I understand your iBooks app on your iPad is no longer responding since you updated to iOS 9.3.1.  The first thing I would suggest is that you sign out of iCloud account on your iPad 3, force quit the app, and then restart your iPad.  Please reply if the issue still persists after making these changes.

Sign in with a different Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    iCloud

    1. Tap Settings > iCloud on your iOS device. If you see the option to sign in, you can change your Apple ID now.
    2. Scroll down and tap Sign Out.

    3. Tap Sign Out again to confirm. After you sign out of iCloud, you might not be able to access some of your data that's stored in iCloud until you sign in again. If you're part of a family, you need to sign back in to use Family Sharing.
    4. Choose Keep on My iPhone or Delete from My iPhone when you're asked what you want to do with your iCloud data.
    5. Enter your password to sign out.
    6. Go to Settings > iCloud and enter your Apple ID and password.
    7. Tap Sign In.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Force an app to close in iOS

HazelHay, please reply and let me know if these steps resolved your issue.  Since iBooks is a part of the operating system, if the issue persists, you may need to reinstall the iOS.

I just solved the problem.  I also could not open any of my books in iBooks after upgrading to 9.3.1.  Normally I just close the cover on my iPad, but I had the idea to shut the iPad down completely then reboot.  That worked! I now have access to all of my books.
