Q: email charging for iCloud: 500GB Storage Plan I do not have

I have just received an email stating an order number and charges of £9.12 per month for 500GB of icloud storage

I don't have icloud on my PC as I don't use it but kept having it pop up! on my phone it states I have 5GB free - so where has this cost come from

    Hello Pamperpot01,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

If you've received an email for an iCloud storage upgrade that you didn't make and you don't see on your iCloud account, then first I suggest making sure this is a legitimate email:

    Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email

    Take care.

    Hi

Many thanks for your response. I did actually research all I could find about phishing mail including all the information you have suggested here, but as it was an icloud charge apparently sent from itunes it was still unclear

This is the email address it came from ID-887983076@itunespartner.apple.com

All the links in the email lead to genuine looking itunes log in pages too, but I didn't log in, I phoned itunes

Itunes confirmed it is a scam and I forwarded it to them so they could investigate
