Q: Ipad stuck in guided access and switch control

  My student's ipad was put in guided access to keep him from exiting his communication app.  He is a little tech savvy and was able to turn on switch control (I'm assuming while trying to get out of guided access.)  Now there is a blue highlighted line scrolling across the screen and the screen is unresponsive to touch.  I can't get to settings and turning the ipad on and off has had no effect.  PLEASE help!  I can't wipe his ipad.
