Resolution Problem?

Hey guys, I have a Macbook Pro 15inch from late 2013 with EL Captain on as my OS.

Now my screen does this annoying thing all the time:

This is when I just tapped my laptop from sleep mode

This is from swiping three fingers to my itunes screen. It'll do this with most apps if they are full screen such as chrome.

The black space is black space while my stuff is usually on the bottom left.

So resolution wise I have at it at max (more space) because obviously it is the best. If there is no fix I'll be sad because I don't want to go back to normal resolution. The only thing however, is that I don't even know if the higher resolution causes this but I just assumed. Anyway thanks for the help in advance.
