How can I work the search engine to get what I want when it uses the search terms for all categories? Results only go from A to B!

When I try to search for a song by the original artist, I get 100 wrong responses stretching from A to B! Is there any way to narrow the search to music genres or something? For instance, I was looking for "Down, down, down", a song recorded by Rose Maddox. I don't want her version, I have that, I want the originals and other cover versions. Try it!! See what you get! There seems to be a lot of songs called "Down down down", but they're not the one I'm interested in.

How can I work this clunky search engine to find what I want?
