How do I know if I am connected to lte advanced and not regular lte.

when I'm connected to data, it will either say 3g, or lte,, but my friend who has a samsung s6 says lte+, i was wondering if I'm connected to lte advanced and not regular lte.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1

As far as I know, the LTE icon on the iPhone will not show the plus sign next to it, if the phone is using the advanced version of LTE. In that case you would have to use an app to measure the connection speed to get more details.

And, of course, LTE advanced has to be included in your carrier contract.
