I recently bought a used Pre-Retina Mid-2012 and the full manual was not present. I got my answer in this thread, but the manual is NOT available for download from Apple. Only the Quick-start guide, which shows it but does not explain it, and another file that is just boilerplate.
So don't alienate new users like me who tried to RTFM but didn't have it on disk, nor could D/L it from Apple support..
