My husbands Iphone SE appears to have a proximity sensor that doesn't work, but I can't tell for sure, When I talk with him on the phone his ear is constantly hitting keys and trying to dial numbers. What can I do to test if the proximity sensor is bad and/or get it fixed?

Make a phone call. While on the call, hold the phone in your hand. Put your other hand over the top of the phone where speaker is. If the proximity sensor is working, the screen will go dark and come back on when you move your hand away.
Record a voice memo, then listen to it back through the earpiece speaker. If it's working, the screen will black out when you put it near your face (or if you cover the top part of the screen with your hand).
