Original packaging

I bought iPhone 6s Rose Gold 128gb for £699 in October 2015, 6 months down the road, I started to have battery problems so I took it to apple store near me.

They were happy to replace the phone for me on the spot but they weren't happy to give me new box with it as it has IMEI number and serial number on it.

If I take the replacement then I'll be stuck with a new phone and old phone's packaging and IMEI number and Serial number not matching, so when I come to resell the phone my phone value will drop by 10-15% because I do not have original box for the phone.

Do I have any consumer rights on this?

Many Thanks

I'm not doing any business, I like to sell my old iPhone when the new iPhone comes out so I can buy that. Replacement device your talking about that's another con in itself, because 6 months before when people buy £600-700 phones, it's new and when they replace it, your stuck with second hand apple device that's worth much less. In both ways you are being conned. When you come to resale you have to mention it's the replacement device and you haven't got the original box so you'll get the half the price. That's where the problem lies.

Replacement devices do not come in original packaging like your new phone did. They come in a plain while plastic container that Apple uses for replacement devices. There is no box for you to receive. Apple does not provide the end user with that replacement box, they are sent back to Apple for reuse. There is no recourse for it, since the box you are asking for does not exist.

Apple is not in the business of providing you things to preserve or enhance your resale value.

I never said you were doing business, I said you didn't understand business. Replacing your device is not a con. It is a way to preserve your warranty. Your device experienced a problem at 6 months of use. You were provided a warranty replacement, a refurbished device that has been refurbished and inspected much closer than new manufactured devices are. Apple's warranty states you can receive a refurbished device. Most of the components of the device have been replaced, and by sight, you cannot tell a refurbished from new. If you believe that getting a warranty replacement is being conned, then you have a great deal to learn. You really wouldn't expect them to replace a used device with a new device, would you. Where is the business sense in that?

No matter, facts can't change. You get what you got. As others have stated, provide feedback to Apple. You are not entitled to anything else.

Exactly! My iPhone 5s motherboard broke 1day after buying it at a AT&T store in WATERFORD LAKES ORLANDO FL. They were kind enough after 3 hours of my wife sitting there to give her a new one. Yesterday I spent 5 hours at the same Apple Store after buying the 6sPlus at the same AT&T store thinking it was a fluke and its close to my home. (Apple Store is far) this time same thing. Exactly the same thing happened 1month and a week later. I was initially told I'd have to pat $329 for a new one. Thank God I got a kid who felt bad as he saw my phone was in perfect condition and this was the second time. Moral, buy directly from Apple. I was told that when they are shipped to retail stored its a long way and, "Anything can happen." As to the response the man gave you about," They're not in the business of giving you", nonsense, your 100% right. IM NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF PAYING $900 for something that's going to work for only a year. So take your pompous answers elsewhere Payaso.

See how much your resale value changes when you state that is a replacement device, rather than the one you purchased new. A replacement device is refurbished. Many buyers would not want to buy a device like that, or they would expect a discount. Your view of the business model is all wrong. The phone is built, and carries a 1-year warranty to adjust for any manufacturing issues. You were provided a replacement device, obviously for a warranty issue. You got exactly what you deserved. You were treated quite well, you just are expecting something that does not happen, a new box.
