Pop up message " iPad infected by virus" with IOS 9.3.1

MY iPad2 show pop up message" your iPad is infected by virus - follow instructions to rectify" . Thiis comes only for non https sites and NOT FOR http so sites.

This is happening verry recently after my upgrade to IOS 9.3.1

That recently happened to me! It makes you think that you have a virus and installing the app will remove the virus, but the app has no relationship with viruses and removing ransomeare and stuff. An ios device cannot get a virus unless you jailbreaked it.

I had this too.

go to settings, scroll down to the browser you used. tap on it and scroll down to : clear history and cookies.

tap on it. then double click home button and swipe away all open pages.

my ipad was fine after that.

Hey! iOS devices can't be infected by viruses.


Go to Settings - Safari - Clear History and Website Data.

If this does not help, reset your device. This won't delete your data stored on the phone.

  • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button
  • Press and hold on the Home button
  • Keep holding both buttons until the display turns off and back on with Apple logo on it.

Alternatively, you may go to Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings
