MacBook Pro with 1440p monitor

Hey,

Due to working from home I need to setup some kind of office for my MacBook Pro (2015 latest). I am a programmer and highly value desktop space.

Right now I work solely on MacBook Pro, and while switching between desktops is great and it's a pleasure to work with the touchap, I was thinking about getting a 27-28" 1440p display. First I was thinking about getting 27" 1080p, but I can't swallow having a retina display and then a blurry scaled 1080p next to it.

What should I look for in a 1440p monitor to get a nice crips display? Will my MBP be able to run the display @60hz? If not, will I see difference when coding with 30hz? Would I be able to run 2x 1440p? What is a good 1440p that people tested with MBP?

Or is it just plain better to get a 2x good 1080p 24-25"?

I also have a Windows desktop mainly for World of Warcraft which probably won't be able to play games at 1440 but I don't mind that being scaled or playing in a window.

Thanks for any input.

It shouldn't be a problem.

If you have the 13" MacBook Pro, it can handle Up to 3840 by 2160 pixels on up to two external displays.

If you have a 15" MacBook Pro the maximum depends on which graphics card your MacBook Pro contains. It can handle Up to 3840 by 2160 pixels (Iris Pro) Up to 5120 by 2880 (Radeon R9 M370X).
