How do I recharge my new iPhone 6s which arrived yesterday?

My new iPhone 6s arrived yesterday. I have the cords included with the phone, but I can't find a place to put the small end into the iPhone. I have my iPhone in an Otterbox Defender case, but I don't think any of the holes are covered up. None of the ends of the supplied cord will fit into any of the holes I can see. I also have an Apple AirPort Express and a Lightning Dock. My phone is dying, and I don't know how to revive it without the correct cord. RRR

The iPhone should have come with 2 things. a USB to Lightning cable:

and a 5watt wall charger

The iPhone itself must have a small port at the bottom where you can connect the Lightning cable portion, and the other side to the 5watt charger:

Yes, the small flat connector will fit into the port on the bottom of the iPhone.

I suggest a read of the user guide for future reference.

Thanks for the pictures. Due to my limited vision and the Otterbox Defender case, I did not see the small port for the cord. Do you know about the Lightning Dock?

I also purchased a Lightning Dock, but when the Otterbox case is on the iPhone, I can't make it fit on the Lightning Dock. Is the Lightning Dock designed to be only used when the iPhone is not in any protective case?

Yes those are ethernet ports. Wan and Lan. What they are connected to if anything will depend on how you plan on setting it up.

The Wan port may connect to your ISP's internet modem / router if you plan on using it for wireless internet access.

The Lan port may be connected to say a network printer, or an ethernet switch to provide more wired ports.

If the Express is meant to extend an AirPort Extreme's wifi signal, then probably neither port will be connected to anything.

In my defense, I did attempt to locate information about where to put the cords online, but I was unable to locate any information. I really do appreciate the pictures as they are very useful to my limited vision problems. Thanks for helping with something so stupid as not being able to figure out how to recharge my Apple device. I have always been able to figure this out in the past. I don't know what's wrong with me today. I will admit this new phone has me rattled. It's my first iPhone, and I am intimidated by it personally. I know how to make an AS400 Main Frame Computer behave, but a little iPhone 6s has me cowering in the corner Again, really appreciate the helpfulness of the community. 🙂

So Sorry, My apologies. I found the Setup Guide. I have plugged my phone into the wall charger. I'm having an issue with the iMac telling me that the Express cannot access the internet. I have plugged my Ethernet cable (cat 5) into the WAN port of the Express as requested, but although that is what the utility is asking me to do, it still says waiting... Is my next step to contact Apple? I have contacted my internet service provider, and they inform me that the port from the router is the appropriate one to be connected to. It is the same port that I used to use when I connected my computer directly to the router. RRR

The Airport Express is a router. Do you have another router online from the ISP? While two routers can be used (I do so myself) setting them up is not a straight forward process (you do not want two DCHPs on at the same time). If the ISP is providing you with a router, not just a modem, I would suggest sticking to it or getting someone very proficient to help you set up the Airport Express as an access point only.
