Magic Mouse 2 becomes disconnected multiple times a day

My Magic Mouse 2 becomes unpaired with my computer 4 or 5 times a day and takes a very long time to get it to reconnect. Sometimes up to 30 min.

I'm a long time Mac user and have no issues with pairing a Magic Mouse to my Macbook Pro Laptop (late 2015) running the same system software and applications. Confounded why it has issues with my Pro Mac (early 2008) I've tried both a Magic Mouse 1 & 2 and have the same issues.

I update all of my software at least once a week and make sure everything is the latest. Is there something I need to uninstall and install fresh?
