how can I restart a saved movie on my I Mac. OX?

Yesterday I saved a movie on my I Mac. and now I want to retrieve the movie and I can't figure out to do it! HELP!

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

What was the source of the movie? iTunes, some TV channel, a DVD or ?

In order to help, you need to supply more details. So was this a homemade movie or a commercial one? How did you "save" it? What happened after you inserted the DVD - did you watch it or ?
