can somebody help plzzzzz

im having so much trouble recording in logic pro x , i need help bad !!!!!

everything i record is very low even with phantom power on and with my gain turned up also the instrumental always over powers my vocals regardless of mixing or not , i have two mics im using and they both are going threw the same thing i was using a blu spark with scarlett 2i2 now i switched back to my mxl 990 to see if its the same problem and it is

do i have to bus my vocals ?

its kinda of hard for me to describe whats wrong because im kind of a newbie to this , sorry but if you can help that would be amazing

When you say you're bringing up the Gain, you do mean the gain on the Interface (Record Level) correct? Your vocals could definitely be recorded a little hotter.


No.1 It's a matter of knowing how to mix.


To deal with what you have there, put a compressor on the vocals, bring down the instrumental bring up the vocals then adjust the master (stereo out) level

yes , i was talking about the gain on my scarlett 2i2

i have the gain pretty high already , i dont want it to clip .

even with my gain pretty high , it still sounds kind of low

i tried everything almost i put a compressor and a limiter on the instrumental and it still match the vocals well and vice versa.

like i dont want to turn the instrumental down to the point where it loses its connection with the vocals i want the beat to sound loud but i want the vocals to match it perfectly without the instrumental and the vocals fighting against each other
