Hi all I fresh installed El Capitan through internet from mountain lion when it finished installing after 30mins I turned the iMac on scree is black however the apple start up chime works no powet on the keyboard its a late 2012 model please help thanks in advance

you may need to reset the SMC. If that doesn't work, you may need to bring it in for the PRAM battery replacement.
Thanks for the advise mate I am new to Mac in fact this is my first Mac if you don't mind tell me how reset SMC and not sure what is PRAM? sorry thanks in advance
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204156 should answer most of your questions..... Only when your Mac is over 4 years old there is a PRAM battery which if not replaced may force you to use the SMC instead of PRAM reset.
