Q: My iPhone 6 is randomly restarting, I lost all contacts and photos

My iPhone 6 has suddenly started randomly restarting itself.  Sometimes I am in the middle of using it and other times it is just sitting there on my desk not being touched, and I'll look over and notice the white screen with the Apple logo come on.  It continues to do this and I have now lost all of my contacts and photos.  I honestly don't know when the last time I synced my phone was but it wasn't recently, either through iCloud or through iTunes.  I went on a trip this past weekend and took photos that are very near and dear to me and they disappeared before I could put them on Facebook!  I don't know what is going on.  I recently deleted a bunch of apps to make more space on my phone (I was completely out).  I also am having a hard time updating apps.  I got stuck in this cycle where updating my apps would make my phone restart, and then I got asked to enter my Apple ID password a ridiculous number of times (I lost count after 10).  I was also asked to sign back into Facebook, Gmail, my work email, basically anything that had a password stored on my phone.  Please, if anyone knows how to fix this (preferably without restoring, I don't want to lose these photos and would do anything to save them!), then please let me know.  If I could somehow get the pictures off of my phone and then restore, I would be open to that.

I have tried both simply turning my phone off and on again as well as resetting my phone (holding down the power and home buttons together for 5-10 seconds until the Apple logo comes back on).  Neither did anything to help,  I just got asked to enter my iCloud password another ridiculous number of times.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3, null

Update: with every restart, it's getting worse.  Now all of my text messages are gone.  I don't know what is happening to my phone!

    1) You said that there are no pictures on your phone anymore but try connecting your phone to your computer anyway just to see if they import or show up on File Explorer (on a PC) by any chance, little to lose at this point. If the pictures do not show up on your computer (which is likely), then,

    2) try going to iCloud.com and see if they are there. If not they may well be gone.

IMO your phone is either badly corrupted or the hardware is on the blink. A restore would determine if it is system corruption. Otherwise you would have to take it to an Apple Store for hardware evaluation.

I will try syncing my phone tonight.  It's weird because despite the fact that it says I have 0 photos or videos, no free space has been added to my phone to account for the pictures being gone, making me think that they are still on my phone but hidden from my sight.  I plugged my phone into my work computer and couldn't access any of the files, but then again it does not have iTunes on it.

Many of my apps cannot run for more than a minute or two before crashing.  Texting is very difficult because Messages will crash and when I open it back up, all of my texts are gone (I am a millennial so naturally the only way I communicate is through texting, LOL).

What I also find odd is that sometimes I will go into Photos or Settings (and look under General>About) and see that some of my photos are coming back, the highest it's gotten to is about half of my total number of photos before the whole phone reboots itself again and they all disappear.  I hope that by syncing I can save some of the photos.
