Hhow did these songs get on your older devices? Presumably from your computer and via iTunes. Same method works for the new iPad, although you might need to update iTunes to the current version.

Adding to Rysz' response, with which I agree ...

Your profile says you are using OS X 10.7.4, Lion, which is now nearly five years old.  If this is true, you will have to upgrade your OS X.  The current version of iTunes (12.3.3) cannot run on Lion.

Upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

    Ccorrect.

Music must originate on iTunes, not on an iOS device. Only music purchased in the iTunes Store transfers from an iOS device to iTunes. Then it goes from iTunes to your new iOS device.

Just download the program SynciOS and pull off your music from your old iPad and move it into your iTunes manually.  Then sync it to your new iPad from iTunes.

Don't worry about sorting through the songs that are already in your iTunes trying to find the ones that are not, just drag all of them into iTunes and it won't duplicate the tracks that are already in iTunes.
