I click and drag music to a new playlist but some songs are not highlighted in that playlist and will not play on my device.  Why?

    Try two things....

    1) The greyed out songs might be unchecked. Uncheck songs are normally excluded from syncing and normal track-to-track playback. Using the Songs or List view Ctrl+click any empty checkbox to tick all of the boxes in the active playlist.

    2) Try going to File>Library>Update iCloud Music Library and do the update.

    1)  All the songs are checked but still grayed out.

    2) there is no such option as "Update iCloud Music Library" when I go to File>Library

Thanks, but this didn't help me.
