Adding a Library to an existing Library

I am trying to ADD a new Aperture 3.6 library to an existing Aperture 3.6 library. When I pull down File/Import/Library I do not get the ADD option. Instead, Aperture tries to Merge the libraries, which does nothing. How do I get the ADD option to show up?

Could you solve it by now?

The "Merge" prompt will only appear, if Aperture detects duplicate items in the two libraries. I can usually force the "Add or Merge" question to appear, by importing the same photo to both libraries before trying to "Add".

Instead, Aperture tries to Merge the libraries, which does nothing.

It helps to repair the libraries before trying to add or merge. merging libraries will work better, if the libraries do not have a corruption.

If all fails, try the work-around to create a new, empty library and then add both libraries to the new library.
