I am trying to fix mac.com (or me.com) email issues on my Mail.app but find that the PW is different from the iCloud password.
This is NOT email@icloud.com this is email@mac.com or me.com that I have had for ages.
I believe I did set it to be the same password, but how did I do that? i can't find the place to do it now. Plus it is different on my keychain for the imap server.
Mac OS X (10.6.8), and 30 other Macs...
Mac mail addresses where migrated to icloud.com when the Mac service was discontinued. All @mac.com addresses are now handled thorugh the iCloud service.

You can go to http://iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the password for the @mac account.

Well I have an even different address for @icloud.com so, next question is does that also share the same password with the log in for Apple ID?
And for some reason I cannot do face time on my phone or iPad with my apple ID because it's not my real email address but it won't let me change it. So very confusing!
