iLife 06 download?

Hi,

I have a PowerBook G4, running 10.4.11. I tried installing iLife 08 on it, but iMovie requires an Intel processor. This link is dead: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/imovieHD6.html.

Where can I find a free download of it, or a cached version of the page?

PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.4), null

You need to buy an iLife 06 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay; the direct download link doesn’t work anymore.

Hi corpsedrill,

Apple only let you download iMovie '06 free because iMovie '08 didn't include some of the features of iMovie '06 had, such as video effects and audio editing. But then Apple brought all of those features in iMovie '09. So, now you have two options. You could buy iLife '06 and choose just to install iMovie. I found two links for you. This one if from Amazon and costs $50 (free shipping):http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iLife-Mac-DVD-VERSION/dp/B0007LW22G. This one is from eBay, and a little cheaper, and free shipping. It cost $30: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-iLife-06-DVD-for-MAC-/291729508079?hash=item43ec6f 06ef:g:MZcAAOSwMSlXAwuN. Then there's option two. You could make iMovie '08 run on your PowerBook. It won't run super fast, but it runs OK. It requires some difficult code changing, but these instructions tell you how: http://www.stilltruth.com/2008/running-imovie-08-on-a-g4-mac/. Basically, you have to change the installer to install iMovie '08, and then modify some code in iMovie to make it run on the G4. It isn't as slow as you'd think.

Hope this helps,
