iPad Back up. I wish to do a local back up to my desk top. How do I change the default drive (C) to a different drive in iTunes?

Sorry - not understanding -

One option is to change where the iTunes folder is located

You can change that entire folder to your desktop

I do not believe the backup file itself can be stored outside of iTunes
