Q: mac firmware password
I'm thinking about setting a firmware password on my mac, but how do I reset it if I forgot it? I tried temperarily setting a firmware password. Then, to to try to reset it, I removed 1 stick of ram, then tried holding comand option p and r. But the firmware password still wouldn't reset. Then, I tried removing the battery, and then removed the ram chip from the top memory slot, leaving the bottom alone, reapplied power, and then tried resetting the pram again. And it failed. Does anyone know of a way I could reset the firmware password if I forgot it with a hardware hack? I don't want to forget the firmware password, and their for loose access to my mac if I needed to start from another disk other than the one other than my startup disk. And I can't just take my mac to the apple store to have them reset it, because I don't have a car, and I can't pay apple to do it for me. Is their any way I can reset the firmware password myself? Thanks in advance
