    Hi

    How notifications behave depends on the status of your devices. In order to bring notifications to your attention as soon as possible:

    - If your iPhone is unlocked, you will receive notifications on your iPhone instead of on your watch.

    - If your iPhone is locked or asleep and your watch is unlocked (regardless of whether the watch screen is asleep or awake) and on your wrist, you will receive notifications on your watch.

    - If your watch is locked or has Do Not Disturb enabled, notifications will go to your iPhone.

    If you have not already configured your watch in the following way, you might wish to use these settings:

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wrist Detection - turn this on.

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Passcode > Turn Passcode on (choose either a Simple Passcode or a more complex one).

    - Also on the Passcode settings screen, enable Unlock with iPhone.

    After putting it on your wrist, your watch will then unlock after whatever you do first: either unlocking your watch manually (by entering the passcode) or unlocking your iPhone.

    It will then remain unlocked (including when the screen is asleep) until you remove it from your wrist. When you remove your watch, it will lock automatically.

    If I turn on passcode, I have to enter the passcode everytime I turn my wrist.

    Also turn on Wrist Detection and check that you are not wearing your watch too loosely.

    For the best results from features including Wrist Detection, the Taptic Engine and the heart rate sensor, the back of your watch needs to be in contact with your skin. Wearing it with the right fit (neither too tight nor too loose, with room for your skin to breathe) should be sufficiently comfortable, whilst also allowing the sensors to operate properly:

    It fits nicely and wrist detection is on. The only problem is, that I only get notifications when the screen is awake. I cant figure out why. If passcode is on I have to Enter CoDE everytime I turn my wrist. ???

    As you have enabled Wrist Detection and are wearing your watch with a good fit, you should not need to enter your passcode every time you raise your wrist.

    Exceptions may apply if:

    • You have passcode restrictions enforced on your iPhone (via a corporate configuration profile, mobile device management or Exchange policy).
    • You have a wrist tattoo: the ink, pattern and saturation of some tattoos can affect the performance of the watch's sensors.

    Otherwise, it may help to:

    • Restart both your iPhone and your watch:
      • Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first;
      • To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
      • To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

    If the issue with the passcode persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support or make a Genius Bar reservation for further help, including with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:

    Hi Fizeman

    I have the same problem you had.

    Did the shop manage to resolve your issue?

    And if they did; do you know how?

    Thanks
