Hello All,
In the "Import" window under Files it lists only Copy to "XXX Folder " or leave files in place.
The "XXX Folder" is the very first library I created when I started using FCX. Why doesn't it list other libraries?
That XXX folder is on a partitioned external drive set up for FCX media and contains the Optimized, Proxy media etc..,
Is that where it should be?
Can I rename it?
I'm not sure what's going on there.

IN the import window you should be able to access any open library. Where the media goes is dependent on the library properties.
Well then I would say that is not happening. No libraries are showing up in the FILE section of the import window.
That XXX folder is not showing a Library ICON.
All my other libraries show the icon and are located in my movies folder on the iMac desktop.
When one opens FCX the first time I entered XXX somewhere.

FCP can't access libraries you have in the Movies folder of the libraries aren't open.
The Library that keeps showing up in the Import window is RESUMES. Which is located on the external partitioned drive.
TThe library that's appearing looks like the Flood2015 library. Use the popup for Add to existing event to see other options.
yes I understand that but why is my only option "copy to resumes" or leave files in place in the Files section.
Shouldn't there be more options of where to copy the files?
What should I name the folder where Final Cut Optimized Media, Proxy and Original Media be called?
Some how mine is named "Resumes," because I had a library I named Resumes.

Resumes must be a folder that's assigned in library properties. It either has to copy or leave in place. Don't know what other options it can have, either to the library assigned location or where it is now.
I'm going through each library and checking properties.
Many of my libraries have the media stored in the RESUMES library. I don't know how that happened.
I can choose modify settings and move the media to the library associated with that project but do I want to do that now?
Bad idea for a project in process?
Secondly, I created a new TEST library and checked it's properties and the media for TEST in the RESUMES folder and that's
what I don't understand. Why isn't the media kept in the library test which I just created?
I guess I'm asking what are the proper choices when creating a new library for a group of projects that would all be about sports for ex.
And that library will have a lot of separate events.

The media will be kept where YOU decide.
Click on a Library, and the Inspector you will be able to see which locations are defined for that library.
You can click the Modify Settings button to change that. (NOTE: this affects only *future* imports, it does not move anything; learn about "Consolidating" if you want to move things to a new location)
If you set one library to store media in one folder, and subsequently create new libraries, they will default to that same folder.
That how you got several libraries that default storing media in that "Resumes" folder.
Inside that FCP X will organize media in different subfolders for Original Media, etc.
WWhen you make a new library it uses the last created properties. If you never change it everything will go into Resumes. You might want to change the location for the libraries and use the consolidate function.
PS this may duplicate media so you should do this with care.
