I hit my ipad and there is colored lines around the impact spot but the screen is not broken. What can I do to fix this

What did you hit it with? Despite the fact that you did not crack the screen, you may have damaged the underlying screen components. I suggest that you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple service provider to have the hardware examined.
