how long does it take for El Capitan to download

Question

I just got it from the app store but the icon says its downloading, just wondering by when i should start seeing some progress

I just finished downloading 10.6.8

Help would be greatly appreciated

Depends entirely on your internet speed!

10.6.8 has never been available for download.

Before downloading El Capitan, make sure you are compatible https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6271' and backed up.
