Small noises between cuts

There are small noises between many of the cuts I make. The noises are separate pieces of audio from the project (the video is of myself speaking- the unwanted audio are small sound bites of my voice). They are somehow added to the end of clips or during the transition when I cut the pieces. I have edited the entire video and there are too many of these sounds- I tried asking this question before but couldn't find an answer so I decided to re edit the project from scratch. These same sounds are appearing. I have tried shortening the clips but the sounds are still there. I updated my iPad Air just a couple weeks ago, and I bought iMovie at the same time. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
