Q: itunes won't update and iPhone won't sync

I have a new iPhone 6s and it won't sync up to my iTunes. And when I plug my phone up to my MacBook pro (from 2010), it says I need to update to the latest version of iTunes. Well, I already updated my iTunes to the 12.2 version. And I tried to update it to the newest version (12.3), and it is telling me that I have the most updated version, but I don't. Can someone help me??? I really need to put my music on my phone.

If there isn't an "easy" solution, how else can I get my music on to my phone?

It's not just iTunes that is the issue. According to iPhone 6 tech specs, your Mac must be running OS X v10.8.5 (Mountain Lion) or later.

Your Mac can upgrade directly from 10.7 to v10.11 El Capitan > Upgrade to OS X El Capitan

Once you have El Capitan installed, you can update iTunes from the App Store so can sync your iPhone using the latest iTunes version 12.3.3.
