Most headsets will pair to at least 2 sources; check the manual, your Bose may also. But you have to pair it to both, and you must manually switch the connection when going from one to the other. It can only connect to one at a time (that's a BT protocol limit). I have a Parrot Zik headset that pairs to up to 5 sources (I use it with 4).

I have a Bluetooth called Blue Parrot its a great headset that is noise canceling. You can stand by a train track with a lot of noise and the person you are speaking to will hear only your voice. New or refurbished on Amazon. It's pricey but worth every penny.

My BlueAnt Q3 will connect to two phones at once. BlueAnt calls it "multipoint technology". Useful if you have to carry two phones. I don't think that works for music, though.

Thanks, my Bose will only link to one device at a time.  My issue is that my iphone 6  cannot "find" my Bose bluetooth device.  With Bluetooth on in my settings, it keeps "looking" for devices to pair to and the Bose never comes up as a choice.  That is not the case with my ipad air.  I have made sure that my ipad is off and the bluetooth is disconnected when I attempt to pair my iphone 6 with the Bose.  Very frustrating.  Thanks for giving me a tip on bluetooth devices that will pair with the iphone 6.  I  hesitate to just buy another bluetooth device that may or may not work, which is why I have posted here for some help.  With a name like Bose, I would never have expected this outcome.  Reading some of the posts on Amazon regarding bluetooth devices, I did notice that other owners of iphone 6's have had issues with other bluetooth devices not pairing with their iphone.

And, dollars to dougnuts, a significant percent of those were most likely user error. Having spent a lot of time on these forums, I can say there is not an unusual number of iPhone 6 users reporting difficulty in connecting to BT devices. I've used a very wide range of BT devices with my iPhone 6 (and my iPhone 5S, 5, 4S and 4) and never had any issues. My recommendation would be to buy a decent quality headset. The ones that cost less than $50 are often problematic in my experience.

The iPhone will not find any BlueTooth device unless the BlueTooth device is "discoverable" or in "pairing" mode. So you must do whatever steps are in the Bose manual to put it into Pairing mode before the iPhone will find it.

Thanks Meg, what is particularly frustrating to me is that my Bose BT (which cost twice the $50 that you suggest) pairs easily with my ipad air but does NOT pair or work with my iphone. This is even when I unpair the Bose from my ipad air and turn the ipad air off.  Needless to say, I am hesitant to purchase another BT device, thinking that the problem may be my iphone.  Should I take my iphone to an apple store with my Bose BT and see if they can pair it?

Meg, sorry, I forgot to mention that the Bose BT did pair with my previous iphone a 4s.

Did you name your iPhone 6 the same as your 4s and/or restore the 6 from a backup of the iPhone 4s? If so, it could be an issue with what the phone is looking for. Check the manual for your Bose BT and do a reset on the device. That will clear all of the pairings in the devices memory. Then put the device back into discovery/pairing mode and attempt to pair with the phone. After resetting the Bose, you should be able to discover it with the phone.
