Q: IMAP account and Printer WIFI issues with Airport Extreme

Apr 23, 2016 7:21 AMby rms000,Let me also add, at the same time that IMAP is unable to log-in, I receive a communication error with my printer and unable to connect. If I log off of wifi and reconnect that usually fixes the problem. This can happen once a day or many times as day. I have not been able to isolate any other considerations.

Apr 23, 2016 7:37 AMby Acm001,The last supported version of the OS for the printer was 10.9. Many times upgrading to a new OS the printer will work and unfortunately sometimes it will stop working. Try this first Get help resolving printer issues on your Mac - Apple Support.

May 2, 2016 1:17 PMby krougeau,Hi rms000. I'm trying to help someone with the same trouble and was wondering if you'd come up with any further clues or solutions to the issue? Our symptoms are the same, save that we're not using an AirPort Extreme. For whatever reason, Mail's IMAP connection's frequently won't connect and for some strange reason this also keeps the machine from connecting to the wireless printer. The machines are a Macbook Pro 2015 and an HP Office Jet Pro 8600. I should also note that, like you, we're using Gmail.
